Every day, the morning of Europe 1 looks back on one of the sporting events that make the news.

This Monday, Virginie Phulpin returns to the derby of this Sunday which opposed Saint-Étienne and Lyon.

The Stéphanois bowed heavily, five to zero.

For its part, Lille won one to zero against Rennes.

The two winning clubs do not let go and are far from having given up the title against a PSG less in advance than in previous seasons.

According to Virginie Phulpin, it feels good to have the most exciting championship in the world.

In Ligue 1, Lyon went to beat St Etienne five to zero this Sunday evening.

A little earlier, Lille had dominated Rennes one to zero.

We have played more than half of the season, and both Lille and Lyonnais remain firmly attached to Paris St Germain at the top of the standings.

For Virginie Phulpin, the French championship is the most exciting in the world this season.

André Villas-Boas is wrong.

The coach of Olympique de Marseille said a few days ago that Ligue 1 was the most unbalanced championship in the world since PSG changed the face of French football.

But this Monday morning, if you look at the standings, of course, Paris is in the lead, but Lille have the same number of points and Lyon are only two lengths away.

It looks more like an infernal trio than a solo race.

And so much the better!

It is January 25, and nobody knows who will be the French champion at the end of the season.

In our current lives of unbearable uncertainties, this is the only vagueness that can fill us with ease.

So let's take advantage of it, it's still more pleasant than last year at the same time when PSG were already 10 points ahead of OM.

There, Lille and Lyon do not whine about the budget gap that separates them from Paris.

They move forward, they play and it works.

We are not going to draw hasty conclusions from the derby on Sunday evening when the Lyonnais marched on Stéphanois deprived of too many players to be able to compete, especially in an empty stadium.

But the derbies mobilize so much affect that even being arch-favorite, OL could have stuck their feet in the carpet.

Lyon turned the trap into a show of force.

And Lille knew how to get rid of the Rennes stadium by trembling, but by winning.

It promises us a great battle for the end of the season.

Ligue 1 has nothing to envy its neighbors.

In France, we are used to looking at England, Spain, Germany and Italy with a good dose of envy and a touch of jealousy.

But the master of suspense, this season is our Ligue 1. Let us stand up and be proud, for once!

In Germany, Bayern Munich already have a comfortable mattress ahead of Leipzig.

In Spain Atletico de Madrid relegated Real and Barça far behind.

Okay, there is a match for the glorious uncertainty of football between France and England, with the two Manchester who do not let go.

But for once our Ligue 1 can look the English in the eye, we're not going to complain.

Notice to potential broadcasters!

The Paris, Lille and Lyon trio is the best possible advertisement for our championship.

And if you don't mind, we would love to be able to see the end of the story in the coming weeks.

Ah, it feels good to wake up in the land of the most exciting championship in the world!
