His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum stressed the importance of enhancing the quality of digital life in the Emirati society with quality policies, initiatives and projects that keep pace with the emerging changes in the local and global digital world, by stimulating the digital community and enhancing the leadership of the UAE to reach more advanced ranks within the digital competitiveness index. In which the country ranks first in the Arab world and ranks 12th in the world in three main axes: technology, readiness for the future, and knowledge.

The ten articles revolve around: Emirati heritage, digital reputation, respect for others, positive investment, good treatment, digital privacy, credibility of publishing, responsibility and regulations, digital ethics, and balanced use.

The national policy for the quality of digital life that was prepared and adopted by the Digital Quality of Life Council in partnership with the concerned authorities and institutions aims to enhance the quality of digital life in the UAE through four main axes: Digital Capabilities: Building the capabilities of community members and enabling them to use the Internet in a conscious and sound manner. And digital behavior: promoting positive digital values ​​and behaviors, and digital content: preparing guides to direct society towards the use of positive content, and finally digital communication: protecting users from the risks resulting from dealing with suspicious or piracy entities.

This is in the context of reaching the goal of achieving coexistence with virtual societies with Zayed's values.

The policy also includes 11 qualitative initiatives that have been linked to the four axes of the policy concerned with enhancing the quality of life of members of the UAE community in the digital world by providing a safe digital environment to protect users, raise their level of awareness, and build their digital capabilities and skills to deal with the digital world in a positive and sound manner.

The adoption of the national policy for the quality of digital life comes in addition to the launch of four initiatives that have been adopted to enhance the quality of digital life in the UAE, namely: the knowledge platform for the quality of digital life, the charter of positive digital citizenship values ​​and behaviors, the initiative for the quality of digital life approach, and the “Category” platform for evaluating the content of games. Electronic, which was prepared and adopted by the Digital Life Quality Council in partnership with the concerned authorities and institutions;

His Highness was also briefed on the initiative "Digital Quality of Life Curriculum" presented by the Ministry of Education, with the aim of including digital citizenship topics in the curricula from kindergarten to the twelfth grade, in several subjects such as moral education, social studies, Islamic education, and the Arabic language for non-native speakers. It also aims to design and publish integrated content for parents to raise awareness of preserving digital privacy, know the dangers surrounding them, how to protect themselves and their children from it, and enhance digital safety, in addition to building the digital capabilities of teachers and administrators by providing specialized courses in the field of information technology.

10 government agencies

The Digital Life Quality Council was established by a decision of the Council of Ministers, and includes in its membership 10 government agencies, headed by Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and Minister of Community Development Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Vice President.

Among its tasks, the Council is responsible for developing and following up the implementation of policies and programs to ensure the quality of digital life for citizens, disseminating values ​​and purposeful interactions in the digital world, positive communication with others, healthy digital behavior, raising digital awareness for all segments of society, in addition to encouraging the meaningful use of technology.
