Prosecutors, charged with investigating the circumstances of the death of Argentine superstar Diego Maradona, confirmed that the personal doctor of the late football legend had forged his signature to obtain copies of his medical records from the hospital where he performed his last surgery.
The documents attached to Maradona's forged signature were found when Argentine police raided the home and office of doctor Leopoldo Loki, looking for evidence of possible professional negligence.
The British newspaper "THE SUN" reported that the public prosecutor had instructed handwriting experts to examine the signature in the documents they found.
She added that the Buenos Aires public prosecutor's office said they had proven that the doctor forged Maradona's signature in a request for pre-operative records last September from the hospital where he performed the last surgery.

Maradona died at his home last November, at the age of 60, of a heart attack after an operation to remove a blood clot in the brain.
Doctor Loki, 39, denied the Maradona family's accusations of wrongdoing, and their assertion that the late soccer star did not receive proper medical care, which led to his death.
According to local reports - based on eyewitnesses - Maradona, who won the 1986 World Cup, quarreled with the private doctor and expelled him from his home days after his discharge from the hospital.
