Recklinghausen (dpa / lnw) - A drunk truck driver devastated the Hohenhorst car park on the A2 near Recklinghausen with his tractor unit.
The 40-year-old raced across the square in an uncontrolled manner with the heavy truck, ran over a seating area and rammed a lantern, the police said on Monday.
Only before a hill did he stop.
A breath test showed 2.2 per mil alcohol, the man could hardly stand on his feet, it said in the police report.
The property damage is estimated at more than 300,000 euros, the driver's license of the truck driver was immediately withdrawn after the incident on Saturday.
