Stena Scandinavica returned to Gothenburg on Wednesday after suffering a corona outbreak in connection with a shipyard break in Odense in Denmark.

Nine of the total of 63 people in the crew tested positive for covid-19, and about half of them have, according to Stena Line's press manager Carl Mårtensson, also been shown to have the new virus mutation.

None of them are seriously ill, but have mild symptoms, such as fever.

- If they had been seriously ill, they would of course have been treated in hospital, says Carl Mårtensson, press manager at Stena Line.

Must test negative

Stena Line has close contacts with Smittskydd Västra Götaland.

- They will be isolated until they are tested negative, says Carl Mårtensson.

During the past weekend, a total clean-up was carried out so that the ship could depart again with a new crew on Sunday.
