Atletico Madrid achieved their seventh successive victory and surpassed one of the important obstacles in their campaign to win the Spanish Football League title this season, after winning a precious 3-1 victory over Valencia on Sunday in the 20th stage of the competition.

The initiative came from Valencia, who opened the scoring by Serbian Jorus Racic in the 11th minute, but the Portuguese star Joao Felix quickly awarded Atletico a draw in the 23rd minute.

Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez added the second goal for Atletico in the 54th minute, and Angel Correa ensured scoring the third goal in the 72nd minute.

The former Barcelona striker - who celebrated his 34th birthday on Sunday - shined and raised his tally to 12 goals in the top scorer in the League, in partnership with the Moroccan striker of Seville, Youssef Al-Nusiri.

And Atletico, seeking to regain the title missing from it since the 2013-2014 season, strengthened its position at the top of the league standings, after raising its score to 47 points from 18 games, a difference of 7 points in front of its closest opponents, its arch-rival Real Madrid (the title holder), who played 19 matches.

On the other hand, Valencia, who suffered their eighth loss in the tournament this season, stuck to 4 wins and 8 draws, at 20 points in 14th place.
