The Dubai Criminal Court has begun the trial of a 27-year-old Asian student on charges of stealing a new phone whose price exceeds 3500 dirhams, after luring in a sales representative of a company that sells phones over the Internet, then he sold the stolen phone in the name of his ex-girlfriend using her identity, and the Dubai Police revealed the crime And referred the accused to the Public Prosecution.

The company’s representative stated, in the prosecution’s investigations, that the defendant bought the phone “online” and delivered it to him at an address he specified by telephone, provided that he would charge its value upon delivery, indicating that he met the accused at an administrative building in Al Qusais, and the latter told him that he had forgotten his wallet in the office. And he will climb to bring it up.

The delegate said that he did not doubt the intention of the accused, and he was allowed to take the phone, then he waited for his return to hand it over to him, but he was absent for more than an hour, so he called him several times and did not answer him, then he turned off his phone, and he realized that he had been subjected to fraud and theft. The accused called him later, and offered to return the money in exchange for the settlement. He agreed, but did not contact him later.

For his part, a witness from Dubai Police stated that after receiving the report, surveillance cameras were examined in the building below which the accused met the delegate, and his identity was identified, and information was received about selling the phone to a shop in Sharjah, and the surprise was that he sold it in the name of a woman and used her identity. The team searched the incident until it reached his location and arrested him, and found in his possession an amount of 2,400 dirhams, which he claimed had obtained from his mother.

The witness said that the accused was brought to Al Qusais Police Station, and upon his question, he confessed in detail the incident of theft, and resold the phone to a shop in Sharjah in the name of his girlfriend, claiming that she had given him her identity card to use in selling the phone, as she was aware of this.

With the question of the owner of the ID, it became clear that the accused tried to implicate her in the incident, as she stated that the accused had a friendship relationship with her for a month, and she separated from him about four months before the incident, during the same period in which she lost her identity card, indicating that she contacted the Identity Authority, and tried Reporting the loss of the card through the application but she failed to do so, and her colleague supported her story, confirming that she tried to help her obtain a lost card by lending her the value of the fees, given that she was in financial hardship, which indicates that the accused tried to implicate her, and that she did not know anything about the incident. Stealing.
