Discussions on the loss compensation system, which the government compensates for the losses of self-employed people due to corona quarantine measures, are accelerating.

President Moon Jae-in has issued an order to pursue it within the financial capacity, but opinions differ as to the timing of payment and whether it is retroactive.

President Moon Jae-in ordered for the first time to make a loss compensation plan for the self-employed at the quarantine authorities' job report today (25th).

[President Moon Jae-in: I hope that the party government will also review the plan to institutionalize compensation for losses, along with related ministries such as the Ministry of Medium and Medium Enterprises.]

However, the premise has been put forward to the extent that finances can afford.

As for the timing of the payment, Hong Ik-pyo, chairman of the Democratic Party Policy Committee, who attended yesterday's high-ranking party, government, and government meetings, said it was at the latest in April.

[Hong Ik-pyo/Democratic Party Policy Committee Chair (MBC Radio'Kim Jong-bae's attention'): If we speed up our work, we think that payment should be made as early as possible within March and at the latest in early April...

.] The

timing is earlier than the'start of compensation in the first half of the year' mentioned by Prime Minister Jeong Sye-gyun, and it is interpreted that the retrospective application of compensation for damages already incurred before the April by-election is in mind.

However, other voices are being detected within the ruling party.

It is difficult to determine the payment target and amount until March, and it is particularly difficult to apply retroactively.

The Ministry of Strategy and Finance, which is in charge of the country's barns, is also shaking its head for payments before early April.

Accordingly, the ruling party compensates according to the amount of loss, but is also considering a plan to accelerate the payment period by providing a fixed amount of compensation for small self-employed persons who have difficulty in determining the amount of loss due to lack of tax data.
