Berlin (dpa) - Ralf Rangnick does not want to participate in speculations about a possible role in the Bundesliga soccer club Hertha BSC.

The 62-year-old had this announced on Sunday at the request of the German Press Agency.

Before that, Carsten Schmidt, as head of the Berlin Club's management, had not commented on the rumors about Rangnick.

A plan will be presented as soon as possible.

Hertha broke up with coach Bruno Labbadia and sports director Michael Preetz on Sunday.

For Rangnick, a role as a coach and sports director in personal union would come into question, if at all.

The ex-trainer of RB Leipzig had recently repeatedly emphasized that he worked most successfully in such a constellation.

Irrespective of a possible Hertha interest, Rangnick recently received significantly more attractive inquiries.

A commitment at AC Milan failed despite advanced discussions, and Rangnick was also under discussion at AS Roma.

In addition, he was last one of the candidates when there was speculation about a possible successor to national coach Joachim Loew.
