Duisburg (dpa / lnw) - For MSV Duisburg, the situation in the relegation battle in the 3rd soccer league remains precarious, but coach Gino Lettieri does not want to be discouraged before the upcoming trend-setting games.

“Unlike a few weeks ago, the team didn't collapse after the 2-0 draw.

They rolled up their sleeves and dug into it.

In the end, luck is not on our side, ”said Lettieri after the 1: 2 (1: 2) defeat against Hansa Rostock on Saturday.

On Tuesday (7 p.m.) the MSV is challenged at FSV Zwickau.

With their tenth loss of the season on matchday 20, the Duisburgers remain in the relegation zone for the time being and continue to be under pressure.

After the match in Zwickau, the home game against VfB Lübeck will take place next Sunday (1 p.m.).

Zwickau and Lübeck are seen as direct MSV competitors in the fight to stay in class.

Against Rostock, Duisburg failed on the defensive and did not use an abundance of goal chances to equalize in the attack.

Lettieri had ordered all three new signings signed during the week into the starting line-up against Hansa with attacker Federico Palacios, midfielder Marlon Frey and defender Stefan Velkov.

The new players were initially committed until the end of this season.

The transfer of Velkov, who previously played for league rivals KFC Uerdingen, was only announced on Saturday shortly before kick-off.

“Our newcomers all performed very well on the pitch.

In general, I liked the fighting and running performance very much, but in the end it's only the goals that count ”, explained Lettieri.
