Nuremberg (dpa / lby) - Without a driver's license, but with a child in the back seat and drugs in his blood, a 45-year-old fled a police check in his car.

The police said on Sunday that the patrol became aware of the man in Nuremberg because he had run over a red light.

When they wanted to stop the 45-year-old, he reportedly accelerated and drove through several red lights.

After a short time, the man stopped on a sidewalk and fled on foot into a wooded area.

After a brief persecution, the police arrested him.

During his escape on foot, he left the 10-year-old son of his partner alone in the car.

The officers found a can of marijuana - a drug test was reportedly positive.

The 45-year-old has to answer after his escape trip on Saturday evening for endangering road traffic, driving without a license and unauthorized possession of narcotics.
