Kassel (dpa / lhe) - A man wanted by an arrest warrant evaded a police check in Kassel and had an accident while escaping.
As the police in North Hesse announced, officials wanted to stop and check the 43-year-old's car on Sunday morning, but the driver, who was traveling with two other men, accelerated instead and drove away.
At an intersection, he put the vehicle against a traffic light, whereupon all three occupants fled.
The police were able to catch the three men a little later.
One officer was slightly injured when one of the men tried to resist arrest.
He was found to have an alcohol level of three per mille.
According to the information, the driver refused to take an alcohol test and a blood sample was then taken.
As the investigation revealed, the man was also wanted by an arrest warrant.
He and another passenger were slightly injured in the accident.
