ECOWAS wants President Bah N'Daw and his transitional government to respect its roadmap.

Elections are due to take place across Mali in 14 months now.

And to leave no space, at the slightest temptation to prevent this process, the heads of state of ECOWAS demand the immediate dissolution of the National Committee of Public Safety (CNSP).

The heads of state and government of the ECOWAS first listened to their Malian counterpart, Bah N'Daw, give his update on the implementation of the road map.

It was then the presentation of the report of Goodluck Jonathan, the

mediator of the West African organization

.

Then with one and firm voice, the leaders of ECOWAS reminded Mali of its commitments: scrupulous respect for the road map, respect for the timetable for the establishment

of all organs

.

And above all a priority, the dissolution of the CNSP, the National Committee for Public Safety.

The Malian transition charter states "

the CNSP is dissolved after the establishment of the transition bodies

".

Despite the establishment of the president and his transitional government, no official act in Mali made the CNSP disappear.

Created on August 19

, this politico-military structure is still headed by Assimi Goïta, colonel of the armed forces and leader of the putschists.

As the current vice-president of the Malian transition, Assimi Goïta was probably on Saturday alongside Bah N'Daw during this 58th ECOWAS videoconference summit,

Assimi Goïta remained silent throughout the discussions.

The protocol of the conference of heads of state and government did not allow him to speak.
