January 24, 2021 The United States has surpassed 25 million confirmed cases of Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic. This is what emerges from Johns Hopkins University. The North American country has seen far more confirmed cases and deaths than any other country in the world. The victims are over 417 thousand.  



The United States accounts for approximately one in four reported cases worldwide and one in five deaths. India recorded the second largest number of cases, with around 10.7 million. The number of new cases in the United States has shown signs of slowing recently, with an average of 176,000 infections reported every day in the past week, down from 244,000 in early January. The country's first case of infection was diagnosed nearly a year ago.
