There was a large corona outbreak in the Lübeck Sana clinics.

A spokeswoman confirmed that 79 employees had tested positive for the corona virus by Saturday.

In addition, 41 patients are cared for on the two Covid wards, two more in intensive care.

The vast majority of these patients were admitted to the hospital from outside due to a Covid 19 disease, it said.

According to the crisis plans, the hospital operations were reduced so that the emergency care and the care of the already inpatient patients could be maintained at all times, as the clinic announced.

All postponable planned interventions have been suspended in order to ensure treatment and reduce the number of contacts to a minimum.

The clinic is in close contact with the health department.

Both patients and employees would be tested for corona every two to three days.

In core areas, employees are even tested every day when they start work.

As a result of extensive research, according to the clinic, a symptom-free patient in the surgical station, who had initially tested negative on admission, but whose test result was then positive, has now been identified as a possible cause of the outbreak.
