January 24, 2021 The fire that destroyed an apartment in Castel Volturno (Caserta) broke out in a few minutes, killing a 38-year-old immigrant of Nigerian nationality (not Ghanaian as it initially emerged);

with him, in the house, were his wife and little daughter who managed to escape thanks to the intervention of the Fire Brigade from the nearby Mondragone detachment.

The man, perhaps in an attempt to take some personal belongings, probably fainted from the smoke only to be engulfed in flames;

the body was charred.

The foreigner was legal on the territory of the State;

checks are underway by the State Police (Commissariat of Castel Volturno) on the existence of a rental contract.

In any case, the tragedy - it emerged from the first investigations by the Fire Brigade - would have occurred due to accidental causes.
