Groß-Gerau (dpa / lhe) - Two people were seriously injured in a traffic accident on the north ring near Groß-Gerau.
For an unexplained cause, a car came off the lane and hit a tree head-on, the police said.
According to witnesses, the driver of the car got out of the car immediately after the accident and fled to a nearby field.
The two 38 and 33 year old passengers were seriously injured and taken to nearby hospitals.
A manhunt for the driver led to the arrest of a 41-year-old man from Ginsheim.
The investigations are still ongoing.
According to the police, the car was not registered at the time of the accident and was used without a license plate.
