Al Tayer said: The establishment of public transport bus passenger stations comes as a complement to the authority’s efforts in developing the infrastructure for the mass transit system, with the aim of encouraging residents to use mass transportation in their daily commute, noting that the new stations are unique in their innovative design that integrates practical interior design and distinction. In the outward appearance, and employing the structural elements to serve the architectural design to be part of it, the completed stations are considered to be a new generation of public transport bus stations, which were designed to meet the requirements of the vital areas with high population density, and the current and future operational needs of public transport bus services, as was taken into account in them. Responding to the requirements of environmental sustainability, the needs of the people of determination, and harmony with the identity and form of the RTA stations, stressing that the role of the new stations goes beyond the prevailing concept in passenger transport only, but also to provide integrated services to passengers, such as shops, service shops, offices, and others.

The Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors explained that the Al Jafiliya Bus Station includes a building for the bus station and a multi-storey building consisting of a ground floor, two floors and a roof for vehicle parking, and the total built area is 19 thousand square meters, of which 484 square meters are office areas, and 595 square meters are passenger waiting areas, Six bus stops, 503 parking spaces for vehicles, and 30 parking spaces for bicycles, and the station’s capacity is estimated at 7,000 passengers, while the number of station users is estimated at 4,500 passengers per day, increasing to 6,000 passengers per day during the Expo 2020 activities, and the station serves five bus lines, rising to six Lines during the Expo, while the number of trips is expected to increase from 28 daily trips to 38 during the Expo, and the Al Jafiliya bus station is located steps away from the World Trade Center, the Dubai Frame, the General Administration of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, and Zabeel Park, which is a meeting place. Al Tayer added: The Union Square bus station in the Deira region is distinguished by its modern engineering design, and includes three buildings, the area of ​​the station is 2,180 square meters, and includes office spaces, customer service spaces and includes 14 bus stops, 46 vehicle stops, and 20 bike stands, and the capacity is The station has 7,500 passengers, while the number of station users is estimated at 5,400 passengers per day, which increases to 7,150 passengers during the Expo, while the number of daily trips is 28 trips, increasing during the Expo to 40 trips, and the station serves seven bus lines, rising to eight lines during the Expo. Pointing out that the Union Square bus station is integrated with the Union Metro Station, where the red and green lines of the Dubai metro meet, and the station occupies a major location within the Deira commercial belt, which includes the Naif, Al Ras and popular wholesale markets.

Al Tayer pointed out that the bus station connected to the Etisalat Metro Station on the Green Line of the Dubai Metro, consists of a ground building and a mezzanine, with an area of ​​708 square meters, and includes office spaces and customer service spaces, and includes 24 bus stops, 20 bus stops, and 50 bike stands. The station has a capacity of 4,500 passengers, and the number of station users is estimated at 3,000 passengers per day, rising to 4,100 passengers during Expo 2020, and the station serves seven bus lines, rising to eight lines during the Expo period, while the number of trips that depart from the station is 20. Daily flight increases to 30 flights during the Expo period.
