Lübeck (dpa / lno) - Third division soccer team VfB Lübeck is interested in the commitment of Cyrill Akono.

The 20-year-old striker from the second team of FSV Mainz 05 has completed a trial training session with the Lübeckers in the past few days.

Coach Rolf Landerl should be convinced of the player.

“The overall package has to be right,” Landerl told the “Lübecker Nachrichten” (Saturday) to finance the transfer.

Therefore, a loan agreement is preferred.

The DFB has lifted the transfer freeze for VfB, because the Lübeck-based company has closed the 824,000 euro budget gap in the past few days.

Sören Lippert has left VfB.

The 21-year-old central defender was loaned out to Bonner SC until the summer in order to collect match practice with the regional league team.
