Vendée Globe leader Charlie Dalin (Apivia) quadrupled his lead over runner-up Louis Burton in seven hours, the latter being 40.5 miles behind (74.9 km) in the standings on Saturday noon against 10.9 nm at 5 a.m. .

Less than 1,500 nm from the return to Les Sables d'Olonne, the skipper of Bureau Vallée seems to have finished taking advantage of the advantage that his decidedly more western trajectory had given him for several days than that of his competitors.

Behind him, the third Boris Herrmann (Seaexplorer-Yacht Club de Monaco) has taken ten miles at Dalin and is sailing at 78.1 nm from the lead.

The German, who will benefit from six hours of bonuses at the finish for having participated in the rescue of Kevin Escoffier at the beginning of December, could become the first foreign winner of the race around the world.

Fourth at 106.8 nm, Thomas Rettant (LinkedOut) has also taken a good ten miles at Dalin since the 5:00 am classification.

Yannick Bestaven, leader for nearly a month, remains fifth at 163 nm and, like Herrmann, will benefit from a bonus on arrival, of 10 hours and 15 minutes.
