In mid-January, the Swedish Pensions Agency will start sending out the orange envelopes.

First out are the country's pensioners and during February-March, pension savers will be notified.

Many have questions about the contents of the envelope and turn to the authority for answers.

- We can get 19,000 calls in one day and can only answer about 2,500 of them, says production area manager Pär Hedén.

Asked for help

The problem is recurring every year in connection with the messages being sent out.

The authority has requested funding from the government to remedy this but has not been heard, according to Hedén.

- At the same time, it does not make sense to bring in staff for only a couple of weeks, he says.

Reinforcement awaits

The messages will soon be sent out to pension savers and the pressure is expected to remain high in the coming weeks.

More administrators have been trained to be able to answer questions.

- From 1 February, we will have more staff in operation, says Pär Hedén.
