The Senate voted a new text prohibiting "all sexual intercourse with a minor of 13 years", without questioning the question of consent.
On Europe 1 on Saturday, the minister delegate in charge of citizenship, Marlène Schiappa criticized the text, believing that it left a gray area for 13-15 year olds.
INTERVIEW
The Senate on Thursday unanimously adopted a bill to create a new sex crime to protect minors under 13.
Senator Annick Billon, however, sowed confusion by declaring that there could be "consenting" children.
Invited from Europe 1 on Saturday, the minister delegate in charge of citizenship, Marlène Schiappa, denounced certain shortcomings of the text, believing that it leaves gray areas on the consent: "I think that the vote which took place in Senate on the age of 13 created a kind of legal vagueness for 13-15 year olds, "she said.
