The extreme snowfall managed to cause several accidents during the night and morning.

Two trucks are standing still on the E4 between Dalkarlså S and Bygdeå, in the middle of a road construction, on Saturday morning.

They stand face to face and the road is completely blocked.

Traffic is diverted, but the disturbance is expected to continue until 12 o'clock.

In Piteå, a snowmobile driver was trapped under his snowmobile when he ended up in a ditch and was almost hidden by the snow.

- He was alone and so trapped that he could not get up on his own.

Fortunately, he managed to access his mobile phone, says Daniel Granberg, rescue chief on standby at the rescue service.

He says that the snowmobile driver was barely visible when he arrived at the scene of the accident.

- It has snowed a lot but he could give an exact description.

20-30 centimeters of snow

SMHI remained during the night with class 3 warnings for snow, but during the morning they could be removed.

- We have seen it calm down more and more.

For Västernorrland, it has become calmer both in terms of precipitation and winds, meteorologist Alexandra Ohlsson told TT early on Saturday morning.

However, SMHI has issued a class 2 warning for the coast of Västerbotten.

In the northern parts of the region, another 20-30 cm of snow is expected on Saturday evening.

Then a new snowfall pulls in already on Sunday evening and remains during Monday, but then no large amounts.

At the same time, there have been elements of rain at parts of the Norrland coast, up to the Umeå area, which entails a risk of slipping.
