Mural by the artist Rouge Hartley on the wall of Trempolino in Nantes.

Thousands of motorists and cyclists cross it every day.

At the corner of Léon-Bureau and Prairie-au-Duc boulevards, on the Ile de Nantes, the Trempolino building is well known for its spectacular graffiti.

On one side the cat by artist Kazy, on the other a fresco by the duo Ador & Semor.

Only here, the latter, carried out in 2013, has been seriously degraded.

The city has therefore decided to replace it with another artistic project, that of the Plus de Couleurs collective, called “Le Mur de Nantes”.

The idea is that, every three months, urban canvases dress the imposing concrete facade (originally a blockhouse) of Trempolino.

Objective: "to surprise and animate the city while highlighting the diversity of current muralism".

Monumental dirty laundry

After a teasing signed Adrien Ledoux, the first artist to launch is the Bordeaux visual artist Jessica Hartley, alias Rouge.

His painting entitled “Red # 1”, unveiled this week, represents… dirty laundry “that must be constantly, carefully and carefully washed in public”.

The next work will be presented in April, the next in July.

Trempolino is an associative structure of diffusion and support in the field of current music.
