Hanover (dpa / lni) - The northern clubs Werder Bremen and VfL Wolfsburg are facing trend-setting games in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

For the Bremer, the game at Hertha BSC begins a phase with several games against direct competitors in the relegation battle.

With the Berliners, the coach Bruno Labbadia is on the brink, followed by the games against the bottom of the table FC Schalke 04 and the promoted Arminia Bielefeld for Werder.

Wolfsburg have been in the top 6 of the table since matchday seven, but have never won against any other club from this top group this season.

That should change in the away game at Bayer Leverkusen.

For VfL, the first matchday in the second half of the season starts at 3:30 p.m., Bremen's only turn to the Saturday evening game at 6:30 p.m.
