The director of the Emergency Office of the Hebei Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention and an epidemiologist Jian Jian said that the recent decrease in the number of cases and the control of the scope indicate that the epidemic has been effectively contained and the overall situation of the epidemic is optimistic.

However, there are still people in close contact who are in the longest incubation period. Therefore, the current epidemic situation is still in a critical period of strict prevention and death. It is not ruled out that there will be continued cases in the coming days.

The majority of the positive infections detected in Shijiazhuang City are still in Gaocheng District, accounting for 72% of the total number of positive infections.
