"Gathering is a fire, scattered with gypsophila." Taking off their military uniforms and leaving the barracks, many veterans still uphold the military spirit, continue to contribute and shine in different positions, and still write new legends in their new positions. , To bring positive energy to the society.

Although the stage is different, the character will never change.

In order to promote the formation of a good society of respecting and caring for veterans, promote the exemplary spirit of veterans to keep their true colors and work hard, and inspire the sense of pride, honor and responsibility of the veterans, this edition launches the "Veterans' New Biography" column to talk about retiring. The story of a soldier’s retiring and not retiring.

"The new EOD suit is more than 70 kilograms, and after wearing it, it seems to be isolated from the world; only explosives are faced, and your psychological pressure and fear will multiply at that time..."

Gao Yang, captain of the second brigade of the fourth detachment of the special police corps of the Tianjin Public Security Bureau, is teaching the team members.

The Second Brigade is the only professional EOD team of the Tianjin Public Security Bureau.

Captain Gao Yang is a bomb disposal expert who is a scout.

In 2001, 19-year-old Gao Yang enlisted in the army. The predecessor of his army was the Hong 1st Division, a heroic army with a glorious history.

During his service, he was named an outstanding soldier and won the third-class merit once.

In April 2003, Gao Yang passed the exam after retiring from the army and became an EOD police officer of Tianjin Public Security Bureau.

Although Gao Yang had also done EOD training during his time in the army, the installations in actual combat were so strange that he never knew what kind of danger he faced.

The first time to dispose of explosives alone was for a case that occurred in a certain community.

Gao Yang and his comrades rushed to the scene, and after careful investigation, they found an explosive in the safe in the suspect's room.

Gao Yang was not in a hurry. He carefully observed the surroundings, and after eliminating all possible possibilities, he raised the EOD scissors and the danger was relieved!

He was 22 years old that year, and he was the youngest EOD fighter in the Tianjin Public Security Bureau.

Even if equipped with the latest EOD suit, in the face of a variety of explosives, circuit lines of different colors, and extremely complicated decoding, a random judgment, an uneven breathing, and a slight jitter that cannot be controlled are all May bring devastating disaster.

"Demolition of explosives relies more on accurate judgment and experience. Only by continuous training and improving ability can we calmly deal with complex scenes." Without the time of police, Gao Yang paid close attention to learning and training.

He studied chemistry, physics, and other knowledge, and practiced assembling bombs every day; in order to exercise his finger feel, he wore an EOD suit and clamped hundreds of mung beans from one bowl to another, and then clamped back; to exercise extreme stress With the endurance and concentration, he practiced the 400-meter sprint and pierced the needle, stacked the bullet casings, and remembered an irregular 10-digit number...

Gao Yang grew up gradually in the cold and heat.

He rushed forward whenever he went into battle.

One winter night, the detachment received an emergency order. A canvas handbag was found in the corridor on the first floor of a residential area. Suspected explosives were visible in the bag.

After arriving at the scene, Gao Yang put on an EOD suit and approached the explosive alone.

After observation and detection, this is a pull-out explosive device with a metal shell, which is not suitable for transfer or detonation.

Remove manually!

Gao Yang made a decision.

He asked everyone to evacuate to a distance, holding a glare flashlight in one hand and EOD tongs in one hand, and began to disassemble.

His bare hands almost lost consciousness. The frozen Gao Yang lay motionless on the icy ground, breaking down the leads little by little, and time seemed to have stopped.

After more than an hour, he finally made a gesture to relieve the danger, but he was too cold to stand up.

In 18 years of EOD, Gao Yang experienced more than 300 cases and more than 300 scenes. The longest EOD took more than 6 hours.

He participated in the completion of more than 1,000 EOD security inspection tasks in various large-scale event venues, inspected more than 380 various explosives, and dismantled more than 450 various explosives...

In 2016, Gao Yang was appointed as the captain.

In order to lead this team well, Gao Yang spent a lot of thought on training.

"Able to assemble can dismantle", assembling and disassembling explosives is the team's daily training course.

Gao Yang also selected representative cases of explosions, copied the facts of the cases one by one, reproduced the negatives, classified registration, drawn sketches, and made explosion models.

After a year of hard work, the "Explosive Device Exhibition Room" and "Explosion Effect Experience Room" have been completed in the Special Police Corps.

As a professional exhibition venue for the Tianjin Public Security Bureau, hundreds of professionals from home and abroad come to visit and exchange every year.

In 2020, the research project EOD comparison query system hosted by Gao Yang was officially launched.

With this system, the police can complete the preliminary disposal of suspected explosives at any time.

After retiring from the military, Gao Yang had won the first-class personal merit once, won the Tianjin May 1st Labor Medal, Tianjin's Most Beautiful Retired Soldier, and the National Excellent People's Police.

In July 2019, Gao Yang was named "National Model Veteran".

After working for Tianjin Public Security Bureau for 18 years, Gao Yang never told his parents about his detonation, in order not to worry his parents. They always thought he was just an ordinary policeman.
