Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - In Magdeburg, the fire brigade has fetched a dead wild boar that had washed ashore from the Elbe.

The fire department announced on Saturday that it had been stored in an animal shelter so that the veterinary office could carry out tests for African swine fever.

The carcass had been recovered in the morning on the cathedral rock with the help of the animal rescue team and the rescue team of the professional fire brigade diving group.
