Frenchwoman Julia Simon won the Anterselva mass start on Saturday, counting for the Biathlon World Cup.

Simon (24) has his second success of the season, six days after winning the Oberhof mass start, beating Sweden's Hanna Oeberg in the sprint.

Like last week in Germany, Simon made a fantastic comeback by managing to win despite a large rifle waste (three faults).

Only 10th at the start of the last standing shot, the Frenchwoman reproduced the same scenario as in Oberhof with a supersonic shot, while taking advantage of the general failure of the leading biathletes.

She then put pressure on the track to end up disgusting Oeberg and Hauser and signing the third success of her career.

Seventh-place Norwegian Marte Olsbu Roeiseland retained the lead in the overall World Cup standings.
