Erfurt (dpa / th) - The companies in Thuringia are apparently still willing to pay despite the Corona crisis - and also solvent.

In December, only 6.5 percent of the companies in the Free State met their payment obligations too late or not at all, as the latest figures from the Crifbürgel credit agency show.

The delay in payment was 19.6 days.

In comparison: nationwide, the proportion of late or non-payers was 10.5 percent, with payments overdue on average 35.5 days.

In January 2020, before the pandemic broke out in Germany and many sectors of the economy came under pressure, the delay in payment in Thuringia was still 22.7 days, nationwide it was 26.4 days.

The proportion of late payers or those who did not pay was also higher in January: In Thuringia, it was 8.8 percent of companies, and throughout Germany their proportion was 13.1 percent.

According to the data for December, companies in Berlin exceed the deadline for paying bills the most, by an average of 68.4 days.

In Brandenburg (average delay 56.8 days) and in Rhineland-Palatinate (48.7 days) too, many companies pay invoices with significant arrears.

With 26.1 percent in December, the federal capital Berlin also took the inglorious top position in terms of the quota of non-paying and late payers among companies.
