Japanese government has internally concluded that the Tokyo Olympics should be canceled due to Corona 19, the British Daily The Times reported.

The Times quoted an anonymous Japanese ruling party official, citing a senior official, and said the Japanese government is focusing on hosting the Tokyo Olympics in 2032.

The official said there is consensus that the Olympics will not be held, and that the government is seeking ways to announce the cancellation of this year's event, leaving the possibility of hosting the next Olympics open.

Japan delayed the hosting of the Olympics by one year four months before the Olympics, as Corona 19 spread worldwide last year.

In a video interview with Kyodo News, Chairman Bach said, "There is no reason for the Tokyo Olympics not to begin on July 23rd."

"I will focus on having a safe and successful Olympic Games rather than having an alternative," he stressed.

Chairman Bach also visited Japan in person last November and helped to host the Tokyo Olympics.

The IOC will hold a general meeting in Athens, Greece from March 10, and will decide whether to host the Tokyo Olympics.

According to NHK Broadcasting, the number of newly confirmed corona19 confirmed in Japan on the 21st of yesterday was 5,642, which continued to be around 5,000 for the third day.

The death toll increased by 84 a day to 4,876.
