Late on Tuesday evening, the federal government and the 16 prime ministers agreed to extend the lockdown to February 14.

However, some federal states deviate from the decision in terms of implementation.

It is nationally standardized that everyday masks made of fabric in shops and in local public transport will no longer be sufficient in the future, but that FFP2 or surgical masks must be used.

Furthermore, cultural institutions, the retail trade and other companies such as hairdressers remain closed.

Exceptions apply to supermarkets, drug stores and other stores that sell groceries.

Private meetings are only allowed with members of your own household and one other person.

Also new is the Home Office Ordinance, which obliges employers with a seven-day incidence of 50 or more to "offer employees in the case of office work or comparable activities to carry out these activities in their home (home office) if there are no compelling operational reasons" so the decision.

Federal Labor Minister Hubertus Heil (SPD) signed a corresponding ordinance on Wednesday.

The discussion about schools and day-care centers in particular dragged the negotiations out.

In principle, the schools should remain closed, but there are exceptions.

In detail, the federal states implement the resolution as follows:

Baden-Württemberg

Baden-Württemberg supports the resolutions of Tuesday evening - the lockdown will be extended until February 14th.

In education, however, a special path is emerging.

Primary schools and daycare centers in this country should gradually open again from February 1st.

The country in the south-west will still not implement the 15-kilometer rule.

For this, parking spaces and driveways to popular excursion destinations will be blocked to avoid crowds there.

The so-called Click & Collect service has been available since January 11th.

Customers can order goods online or by phone and collect them from the retailer.

Bavaria

display

The decisions of the federal-state meeting will not result in any changes for Bavaria with regard to the provisions to contain the corona pandemic.

The country had previously made it mandatory to wear an FFP2 mask.

The renewed extension of the corona lockdown in Bavaria will only be discussed in the state parliament next week.

The next regular meeting will take place on January 27, before the new regulation comes into force on February 1.

Should the infections continue to drop, the Bavarian route initially only provides for a slight relaxation: high school graduates and students from vocational schools who are about to take their final exams or chamber exams should be brought back to their shared classes in alternating classes from February.

After the Bavarian Administrative Court (VGH) had suspended the Bavaria-wide alcohol ban for the time being on Tuesday and thus granted an urgent application by a private person, Söder announced a more precise specification.

Berlin

At a special meeting on Wednesday, the Berlin Senate decided to implement the agreements made between the federal and state governments.

The Senate will discuss a gradual opening of the schools after the end of the winter holidays.

Daycare centers will now be closed completely, and emergency care will still be available - but only for children of parents who are considered to be systemically relevant.

Brandenburg

The corona lockdown in Brandenburg will also be extended until mid-February.

The range of motion of 15 kilometers

is restricted to tourist trips and any kind of outdoor exercise.

This applies to counties that exceed a seven-day incidence of 200.

Necessary trips such as to the doctor or to work are permitted beyond this radius.

Daycare centers should in principle remain open, and face-to-face teaching for final classes will also be possible.

Since January 18, single parents are entitled to emergency care at schools and in the after-school care center if domestic or other individual or private care cannot be organized.

The regulation for individual sports companies, which was previously allowed to be performed outdoors, is new - this regulation is no longer applicable.

Bremen

Bremen waived the 15-kilometer rule and required the wearing of surgical masks in retail and public transport.

However, everyday masks no longer work.

The measures in the schools will only be decided on Friday.

Mayor Andreas Bovenschulte (SPD) said in a press conference, however, that Bremen would not decide on a special path for schools.

The attendance requirement remains suspended until February 14th, as long as parents can decide whether to send their children to school.

Hamburg

display

Hamburg takes over the resolutions of the federal and state governments, the legal ordinance on this will come into force on Friday or Saturday.

Fines for violations of the obligation to wear FFP2 or surgical masks will only be issued from the beginning of February.

The daycare centers should switch back to extended emergency care from Monday.

If at all possible, parents should look after their children at home, said Hamburg's Mayor Peter Tschentscher (SPD) on Wednesday evening.

So far, there has been a limited regular operation that all parents could use for their children without justification.

The new regulation will apply from Monday.

Tschentscher named several criteria that entitle the child to emergency care: an urgent need for childcare, the parents' work in particularly important areas, family reasons, individual emergencies and single parenting.

There should not be a catalog of professions that parents have to exercise in order to be able to use them.

Hesse

The regulations decided by the Hessian Corona Cabinet should come into force on Saturday and also apply until mid-February.

The previous 15-kilometer radius regulation for regions with more than 200 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days will no longer apply.

From this incidence, excursion destinations will continue to be blocked.

Nothing will change for the Hessian daycare centers and schools by mid-February.

Pupils up to and including the sixth grade are taught face-to-face at the schools when their parents have to go to work.

Distance learning generally applies to students from grade 7.

The final classes, on the other hand, have classroom instruction.

The Hessian cabinet has adopted stricter rules than the federal government for visitors to retirement and nursing homes.

Visitors must submit a negative corona test result on request.

Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania

From when the new regulations will also apply in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is still unclear.

The date should be decided on Friday.

Stricter corona regulations such as exit restrictions should apply in districts and independent cities of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania within one week from 150 new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants.

Accordingly, this requirement previously only applied to a value of more than 200.

In principle, schools up to grade 6 remain open for all children, but parents should look after their children at home.

As of Monday, this rule no longer applies to the districts of Vorpommern-Greifswald, Ludwigslust-Parchim and the Mecklenburg Lake District alone.

Due to the high number of infections, there is only emergency care for school children.

The written Abitur exams will be postponed and will not start on April 13 until April 23.

Lower Saxony

The state of Lower Saxony will withdraw previous easing and partial opening of primary schools.

The face-to-face lessons are therefore canceled until mid-February.

Daycare centers are only allowed to look after small groups.

If the children are under three years old, eight children can be in a group.

Kindergarten children can be looked after in a group of 13.

The 15-kilometer radius will continue to apply to municipalities with an incidence of over 200 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days.

However, the measure does not apply to the place of residence, as decided by the federal government, but based on the specific place of residence.

North Rhine-Westphalia

North Rhine-Westphalia published the new Corona Protection Ordinance on Thursday evening.

From Monday, medical or FFP2 masks must be worn in buses and trains, supermarkets and church services in NRW.

The previous strategy of limited emergency operations applies to daycare centers.

Compulsory attendance remains suspended in schools as well.

Rhineland-Palatinate

The results of the federal-state talks from Tuesday will largely be adopted; they will come into force on January 25th.

The range of motion of 15 kilometers should not automatically apply to regions with an incidence of over 200 new infections per 100,000 residents within seven days.

This decision is coordinated between the state and the affected municipality.

Saarland

display

The Saarland also adopts federal resolutions.

Face-to-face lessons are still not taking place, there should be exceptions for Abitur classes.

Daycare fees and fees for the voluntary all-day schools are covered by Saarland for the period from January 10th to 31st.

Saxony

In Saxony, after the federal-state switch, only a few points are being sharpened, as Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer emphasized.

As an example, the CDU politician cited the obligation to wear exclusively medical masks when shopping and in local public transport.

The cabinet wanted to pass the amended Corona Protection Ordinance on Tuesday.

It will come into force within the next week.

The 15-kilometer rule and night curfews in hotspots with an incidence of over 200 already apply in Saxony.

The consumption of alcohol in public is also prohibited and can be punished with up to 60 euros.

Up to 150 euros are due for sellers.

Graduating classes can continue to study on-site in shared classes.

The winter holidays in Saxony, which were planned from February 10 to 22, will be split up.

The first week of vacation should take place in the first week of February, the second is to be made up in the Holy Week before Easter.

Saxony-Anhalt

Tuesday's decision will be implemented in Saxony-Anhalt, but the new rules will only apply from next Monday.

There is still emergency care for school classes 1 to 6, classroom lessons can only be carried out for final classes to prepare for exams.

The districts and urban districts are obliged to limit the radius of movement to 15 kilometers around the place of residence, provided the incidence exceeds the value of 200 per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days and this lasts for at least five days.

If employers do not offer their employees a home office, they should also have to justify this.

Schleswig-Holstein

Schleswig-Holstein also adopted the federal-state decision from Tuesday.

As far as the contact restrictions are concerned, the country is planning a special regulation for young children.

Accordingly, children under three years of age do not count towards the count.

Because daycare centers remain closed, the state wants to continue to reimburse the parents for the fees, the same applies to the care costs in the primary schools.

Thuringia

The new regulations for Thuringia should come into force next Tuesday.

Furthermore, Thuringia does not implement the 15-kilometer rule.

Nevertheless, the journey to winter sports locations should be prevented.

A night exit restriction between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. also remains in effect.

The collection of ordered goods may no longer only be offered from bookstores, but also from other shops and hardware stores.

It was previously planned that the schools would reopen on February 1, but they will remain closed for the time being.

Face-to-face classes will only be given for graduating classes.

The winter holidays are brought forward by one week to January 25th.
