He had performed stunts of mythical characters and actors for French and international cinema.

Rémy Julienne died of the Covid-19, corroborating sources announced Friday, January 22.

The stuntman had been in intensive care at Montargis hospital (Loiret) since the beginning of the month.

"What had to happen happened, he left us at the end of the evening (Thursday). It was foreseeable, he was on artificial respirator," a relative told AFP.

The death was confirmed by the deputy of Loiret Jean-Pierre Door, a friend of the former stuntman.

In the credits of six James Bond

Rémy Julienne, a native of Cepoy (Loiret), near Montargis, made his debut in cinema in 1964. Then French motocross champion, he overtook Jean Marais on the set of Fantômas.

His career will span around fifty years and will allow him to double notably Yves Montand, Alain Delon, Roger Moore and Sean Connery.

He will appear in the credits of six James Bonds, but also of great classics of French cinema: "Le Mur de l'Atlantique" (Marcel Camus), "Le Solitaire" (Jacques Deray), "Le Cerveau", "La Grande Vadrouille" (Gérard Oury), "Adventure is adventure" (Claude Lelouch).

In all, he has participated in some 1,400 productions.

According to a source close to the family, Rémy Julienne will be buried in Cepoy, in the family vault.
