Düsseldorf (dpa) - North Rhine-Westphalia remains a stronghold of kitchen furniture production in Germany.
Almost 70 percent of German production of kitchen furniture made from wood came from the most populous federal state in 2019, as the State Statistical Office reported in Düsseldorf on Friday.
Most of them were built-in kitchen elements.
The main production was in East Westphalia.
According to statisticians, the production value of kitchen furniture “made in NRW” in 2019 totaled 3.33 billion euros.
That was 1.8 percent more than in the previous year.
Overall, the value of the furniture produced in NRW increased by 1.2 percent in 2019 to 6.83 billion euros.
The lion's share was accounted for by kitchen furniture.
