Mönchengladbach (AP) - Former world champion Per Mertesacker advises coach Marco Rose, who is courted by Borussia Dortmund, to stay with Borussia Mönchengladbach.
“It's a very capable team.
With Max Eberl, he has someone by his side who trusts him 100 percent.
I trust him to take the next step with Gladbach over the next few years, to be consistently in the Champions League and to challenge Bayern, ”said Mertesacker on Friday evening as an expert for ZDF after the 4-2 (2-2) win in Gladbach against Dortmund.
Rose still has a contract in Gladbach until 2022, but has an exit clause.
The 44-year-old had recently repeatedly avoided committed to Gladbach beyond the season.
"I think he's currently very good at staying with Gladbach," said the former Arsenal professional Mertesacker.
