Thursday evening, several police officers were targeted by fireworks in the popular district of Cantepau, in Albi, in the Tarn.

Three officers were lightly burned by the mortar fire.

"Following a refusal to comply, the police have been the target on numerous occasions by thugs armed with fireworks," the Alliance union said in a statement.

This union of the national police calls for an "urgent control of the sales of these dangerous weapons by destination" and points out a "feeling of impunity which animates these thugs, induced by an overly lax criminal response which does not dissuade them".

The anger of residents is growing, according to the mayor

For the mayor of Albi, Stéphanie Guiraud-Chaumeil (various right), “the residents were afraid, their incomprehension and their anger grew.

It is our rule of law which is flouted, adds the city councilor, as well as the daily life of the vast majority of the inhabitants who aspire to only one thing: to live peacefully ”.
