January 22, 2021 They had been locked up for two days, cold and hungry, in the trailer of a truck that left Romania and headed for France.
Seven Afghan minors aged 12 and 17 were discovered by the traffic police, alerted by the truck driver who had heard some noises, aboard the vehicle stopped in a service area of the Turin ring road.
To tell their story and part of their journey, only one of the guys who knows a few words of English.
He with his 2 brothers and other boys got on the truck in Romania after paying a man a thousand euros each.
After taking the money, the man sneaked them into the vehicle secretly.
The driver was in fact extraneous to the facts.
Their destination was France.
A story told while the Turin traffic police gave him drinks and warm blankets and something to eat.
