Düsseldorf (dpa / lby) - In a rousing top game, a strong SpVgg Greuther Fürth just missed a big win at Fortuna Düsseldorf.

The Franconians had to be content with a 3: 3 (2: 1) after a great 90 minutes in the 2nd Bundesliga on Friday evening, after they led 2: 0 and 3: 2.

The clover finished the first half of the season with 29 points and is still two points behind third-placed Düsseldorf.

It was an absolute top game in which the guests played a major role.

Fortuna professional Andre Hoffmann scored the goals for Franconia, who had been undefeated against Düsseldorf for five years, who steered a sharp cross from David Raum into his own goal (26th), Julian Green (29th) and Sebastian Ernst (53rd ).

Midfielder Ernst has scored four times in the last five games.

The team of trainer Stefan Leitl always played very determined and would have deserved more than the point.

Fortuna, who has now been undefeated for eight games, scored goals through Kenan Karaman (35th), Kristoffer Peterson (49th) and defender Kevin Danso (83rd) on loan from FC Augsburg.

Shortly before the end, the hosts even had a big chance to make it 4: 3, but Marcel Sobottka shot over after a one-two with Karaman.
