Frankfurt / Main (dpa) - The DFB control committee has closed the investigation against Hertha's offensive player Matheus Cunha because of an insulting statement.

The German Football Association announced this on Friday.

The 21-year-old Brazilian was suspected of having made "an insulting statement in the direction of the Cologne coaching bench" at the Bundesliga game in Cologne last Saturday.

The suspicion was insufficient for further investigations, as the association said on Friday.

The chairman of the control committee, Anton Nachreiner, said: «After the investigation carried out by the control committee, no evidence of an offensive statement by the player Cunha could be produced.

Furthermore, no complaint was made to us by 1. FC Köln. "
