Bad Saarow (dpa / bb) - Parents and daycare centers are demanding more protection for educators in the corona pandemic from the Brandenburg state government.

On Friday, Ulrike Scholz, the director of the “Forest and Meadow Hopper” nature kindergarten in Bad Saarow (Oder-Spree district), called for rapid tests for the staff at any time, but at least two to three times a week.

Around 80 percent of the children would still attend the facility.

The risk is correspondingly high.

In order to avoid care gaps, educators whose children go to school should have a secure right to emergency care.

Scholz sent a letter with questions about the protection concept to the responsible district.

Despite the tough lockdown, the daycare centers in Brandenburg are to remain open in principle.

However, the ministry appeals to parents to look after their children at home if possible.

If the number of new corona infections in a district or in an independent city increases to over 300 per 100,000 inhabitants within a week, the daycare centers would have to be closed according to the new regulation that will apply from Saturday - but districts and cities below can also close their daycare centers if it is necessary due to the regional infection rate.

The daycare centers are supported by the parents.

More rapid tests, free FFP2 masks and quick vaccinations, demanded Danilo Fischbar from the state parents' council Kita.

In addition, reserve reserves should be introduced so that childcare workers can be ensured in the event of illness.

The parents welcomed the fact that the daycare centers remain open.

They take a critical look at the incidence rule of the state government: in an emergency, parents would hardly have time to organize the care of their children and their job.
