Pforzheim (dpa / lsw) - Customs officers from Pforzheim have confiscated a package in which there were ampoules with a supposed beauty product made from snail secretions and caviar extract.

The preparations with the special ingredients were classified as pharmaceuticals, as the main customs office in Karlsruhe announced on Friday.

The recipient from the Enzkreis had probably wanted to resell the ampoules that had been sent to her from the Ukraine.

They are now being investigated for violating pharmaceutical law.

Private individuals in Germany are not allowed to receive drugs from abroad by post, the message said.

"Even preparations that may be freely traded abroad, such as dietary supplements, vitamin preparations or purely herbal natural remedies" could be considered medicinal products and ordering them would therefore be prohibited.
