A negative PCR test will be mandatory for most European travelers wishing to enter French territory from Sunday.

The Secretary of State for European Affairs, Clément Beaune, said Friday on Europe 1 that there was no "border taboo", but recalled that their closure and control was not a "tool miracle".

INTERVIEW

"There is no taboo on the border. I am very comfortable with the fact that checks can be useful", assured Clément Beaune, Secretary of State to the Minister for Europe and Business foreigners, Friday on Europe 1. From Sunday at midnight, a negative PCR test carried out 72 hours before departure will be compulsory for most European travelers wishing to enter French territory.

While several European states have done so before us, Clément Beaune reiterated that we should not, however, make people believe that closing borders was a miracle cure.

"We do not play politics, we do health with the borders. We must not make people believe that closing the borders is done in a magical way and without problem", argued Clément Beaune.
