Münster (dpa / lnw) - The Mayor of Münster, Markus Lewe (CDU), wants to remain cautious despite the low number of new corona infections in his city.

"It is not a matter of course, it can change again at any time," said Lewe on Friday in the ARD "Morgenmagazin".

"I believe that part of the success actually has to do with the people in this city."

Namely: Have respect for other people and for yourself.

On Friday, according to the state health center, the incidence value in Münster was 39.3 per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days.

This makes Münster the only city in North Rhine-Westphalia with a value below 50.

Lewe warned against easing the corona measures too quickly: "I think the biggest enemies we have at the moment with the Covid-19 pandemic are mutation and recklessness," he said.

"If we pretend everything is okay again too quickly, it could turn over again very quickly."
