• Trial. The teacher who falsified the minutes of the Master's case declares that she did so under pressure: "Cifuentes is going to kill you."

  • Accusation: Cristina Cifuentes faces three years in prison for the 'Master's case'

The former president of the Community of Madrid

Cristina Cifuentes

has declared this Friday in the trial for the falsification of the certificate of the

Final Master's Thesis (TFM)

of Public Law of the Autonomous State of the Institute of Public Law of the Juan Carlos University of Madrid (URJC ).

To questions from the Prosecutor's Office, the former leader of the Popular Party has defended that she studied the master's degree through work that she was delivering to the University to avoid going to class or taking exams in person.

Cifuentes began by explaining that it was professor

Enrique Álvarez Conde

- now deceased - who explained that he could take this non-face-to-face modality to take the master's degree while making it compatible, first, with his position as vice president of the Madrid Assembly and, later, as a government delegate in Madrid.

However, the former president of the Community of Madrid has admitted that she does not keep any of those jobs because her life "has been very complicated" and in recent years she has had "five office moves and two home moves."

In addition, in her appearance, the former president of the PP, dressed in strict black, has defended at all times that she attended the aforementioned postgraduate course and did the TFM and has disassociated herself from the falsification of the act that ended her political career.

"I really do not defend my work: I deliver the work and explain it in general lines. I am surprised because it was a very informal act," Cifuentes said to questions from the prosecutor.

That delivery was made, he explained, before "two or three people" who did not know if it was the court that would evaluate the TFM later.

Cristina Cifuentes, who faces three years and three months in prison for the induction to the commission of a crime of documentary falsification, has assured that when the scandal broke out for her master's degree, revealed by

, she asked her team to request the URJC the documents that prove that he had taken the same.

Then, the minutes of the TFM are sent to him through the rector's secretary.

"It is a document that I do not ask for and curiously they send me from the University," he said.

She, she insists, asked her team that the University send her the registration for the postgraduate course and a personal academic accreditation that she had completed the master's degree.
