Soltau (dpa / lni) - A fire in an apartment building in Soltau (Heidekreis district) caused damage of around 500,000 euros.
Two residents were taken to the hospital with suspected smoke inhalation, but have already been released, a police spokesman said on Friday morning.
According to initial findings, a burning candle in one of the apartments late on Thursday evening was the reason for the fire.
Six residents were able to get themselves to safety from the flames.
The fire brigade saved another resident from a balcony with a turntable ladder.
