Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - The state government has now decided to extend the lockdown agreed by the federal and state governments for Saxony-Anhalt as well.

The cabinet decided on Friday a corresponding change to the Corona state ordinance, which will come into force on Monday, said the Magdeburg State Chancellery.

Essentially, this will extend the lockdown that is already in place until February 14th.

There are new rules for the mask requirement, occupational safety, contact restrictions and the right of assembly.

All "established parties" must postpone their face-to-face events to a date after February 14th.

The CDU postponed the election of the list for the state election planned for January 30th on Thursday.

The last two weekends in February are being discussed as a new date.

The Left also wanted to draw up their electoral list on January 30th.

The board is currently discussing the new state regulation, said a spokesman on Friday.

On Monday, the party should then decide when the list should be elected.

The mask requirement is also tightened.

From Monday, Saxony-Anhalters will have to wear an FFP2 mask or a surgical mask when shopping and on public transport.

Employers are now also obliged, if possible, to let their employees work from the home office.

The state government, on the other hand, eases the ban on contact slightly - in order to facilitate the care of the children affected by the school and daycare closings.

"Two families can now support each other in looking after their children up to the age of 14," said the State Chancellery.

"In addition, it was made clear in the amended ordinance that your own children up to the age of three can be taken on a visit."
