Cologne (dpa / lnw) - After the alleged murder of a 31-year-old Bulgarian, investigators assume that the woman was killed in Cologne.

Her cremated body was discovered in December 2020 in Rhineland-Palatinate in Ochtendung near Koblenz on a dirt road.

In the meantime, a homicide squad and the public prosecutor in Cologne have taken over the case.

In the cathedral city, the victim's small car was discovered in the Chorweiler district, a police spokesman reported on Thursday.

The forensic investigation revealed that he probably played a role in the crime.

A 34-year-old suspect has been in custody in the matter since Christmas Eve.

He is said to have had a relationship with the woman in which there should have been arguments again and again.

The Cologne is said to have shot the woman.

The police are now looking for witnesses who have seen who used the victim's yellow small car with the «MYK» registration number.

The woman last lived in Kruft in the Mayen-Koblenz district.
