Kiel (dpa / lno) - Actor Axel Milberg has a heart for outsiders when it comes to football.

"I'm somehow an opportunistic viewer, I'm for the loser," said Milberg of the German press agency.

Accordingly, the actor, who was born in Kiel but has lived in Munich for 40 years, was very happy about the cup success of second division Holstein Kiel against record champions Bayern Munich.

"How nice it is when David wins against Goliath."

That is why the DFB Cup was invented.

For his hometown, the success is an event of the century.

Milberg sympathizes with the Bundesliga leaders.

"That's why I'm always angry about this fidgeting and hatred of FC Bayern and defend it with conviction," said the 64-year-old.

He knows how intensively they work there.

He gave up his own season ticket, however, because recently he rarely made it to the games for professional reasons.

Should Holstein Kiel succeed in promotion, the club from the north would be sure of Milberg's support for the appearance in Munich: "Then I would be clearly for the newcomer to the Bundesliga."

Milberg is regularly in front of the camera for the NDR's «Tatort» in Kiel as Commissioner Klaus Borowski.

The new episode “Borowski and the fear of the white men” will be broadcast by ARD on March 7th at 8:15 pm.
