January 21, 2021 The Cannes Film Festival will announce by the end of the month whether it will keep the May dates (11-22) of the 74th edition or if it will postpone to the summer.

The festival could take place between July 5 and 25, according to Variety reports.



Confirming the indiscretion, the US magazine claims that the Cannes hotel union was informed last week that the festival would most likely move to July.



"We would much prefer for the festival to take place in May, of course, but we said we will be happy to prepare to welcome the festival in July; the dates we have agreed are between July 5th and 25th. So, the festival could start. roughly around July 5, or a few days later, "said the owner of a hotel located near the Palais des Festivals, writes Variety. Last year, the edition did not take place due to the coronavirus emergency.
