Coswig / Dresden (dpa / sn) - An alleged 28-year-old arsonist has been arrested in Coswig near Dresden.
As the public prosecutor and the Dresden Police Department jointly announced on Thursday, the man is suspected of having set a warehouse on fire with accomplices in Klipphausen near Dresden in August last year.
This is said to have resulted in damage of more than half a million euros.
People was not hurt.
During the search of three apartments and two garages last Monday, evidence and stolen property were found, it said.
The man is on remand.
The public prosecutor is investigating the crime against a 41-year-old from Dresden.
However, no arrest warrant had been applied for against him because there was initially only initial suspicion, it said.
The police and the public prosecutor's office assume a third party who is still unknown.
The background and the motif have to be determined according to the information.
It is also checked whether the accused were involved in previously unexplained thefts.
